Fedora 26 is scheduled to arrive today, July 11, and we congratulate the highly productive Fedora community on another rev of many people’s favorite distro.
We’re continuing our tradition of supporting new distro releases from day one, and Fedora 26 users will find the following MySQL products in the official MySQL yum repos:
- MySQL Server 5.7.18 and 8.0.1 (which is a preview release of the upcoming MySQL 8.0)
- Connector Python 2.1.6
- Connector ODBC 5.3.8
- Router 2.1.3
- Utilities 1.6.5
- Workbench 6.3.9
- Shell 1.0.9
Head over to https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/repo/yum/ and get the Fedora 26 repo setup package to enable the official MySQL repos on your system. Install the package with
sudo rpm -Uvh mysql57-community-release-fc26-10.noarch.rpm
… and off you go. For more detailed instructions, please refer to the Quick Guide to Using the MySQL Yum Repository.
As usual, if you have comments or suggestions, feel free to leave a comment below. If you should [gulp] experience issues with the repos or packages, please make sure to submit a problem report to the MySQL bug database.
